If you’re anything like you, you’re eventually going to royally screw the pooch and either forget your Oracle database SYSTEM password or just mangle it some other way, requiring a password reset. Fear not! If this is the case, life can indeed go on as normal. I’m going to tell you how to easily change the SYSTEM account password right from the Windows desktop.
I never really thought my life was worth putting under a microscope. As a matter of fact, I never really thought about it at ALL. Up until a couple years ago, I assumed the only person who needed to put my life under any scrutiny was me, while trying to put the pieces of whatever has been broken inside back together again. But first I would need to understand the what and the why, I guess.
Most people who are new to the Mac (and perhaps even those who’ve been around a while, depending on their personal level of Mac geekery) might not be aware of all the boot options available to you after pressing the power button on your computer. Not only can you boot from the internal drive, as is most typical of any computer out there in Mac Land, but you can boot from any number of other devices/media as well. I’m going to cover all of those options here… or at least the ones I’m aware of. My goal was to make this list as complete as possible, but if I’ve overlooked sokmthing, feel free to send me an email with corrections and/or additions and I will gladly include them here!

At this point, I’ve owned an iPhone for quite a while. Originally I bought the iPhone 3G, but more recently I “traded up” for the new iPhone 3GS model. It was well worth the money in my opinion. Overall it’s just way more responsive, has better features (video capture, better onboard camera, more RAM, etc.), and in terms of development… well… the sky is the limit by the look of things so far. There are some seriously amazing applications available for this platform as of late, and they’re growing exponentially in sheer number. But there’s one thing we generally don’t think about (and I suppose we really shouldn’t need to, but I am who I am: cursed. Tech to the core. Guilty as charged your honor), and that’s memory management. Ever noticed your phone getting sluggish at times? Not as responsive as it normally is? Sure, you can “reboot” the phone, but that takes time. Who has time for that anymore? I have a better alternative…
This is a pretty cool video (or series I guess in this case, since it’s broken into 3 pieces). The only bitch I have about it is that the volume difference between Dave’s spoken word and the music clips is pretty big. So when the music comes on in between his spoken parts, you’ll get a little startled LOL
When Apple released Leopard, I considered it to be the best desktop operating system on the planet (notice I said desktop operating system. So all you technogeeks can kiss my ass. I have used and abused more operating systems than you can possibly imagine)… with one exception: The dock. Not that anyone really needs another “best of” list for OS X, but since it seems like everyone else has one, I might as well have one too, right? Look at me following trends! Just so everyone knows, this list is purely personal and selfish. I could give less of a shit what you like and why, so don’t email me to tell me off because I left your favorite application out.
